BLOOD BATH : Thrill With Warhammer Style
Posted on 3:44 AM by The G
STRIKE FROM THE SKY, BROTHERS !!
Cleanse the heretic. Butchered the green. GRENGGGGGRR KRENNGGGRRR (If you are familiar with Warhammer 40K franchise, you can easily tells that is the sound of Chainsword). And to die-hard fans, the stereo of that close combat weapon only mean one thing. Adrenaline burst. But, this new series will take it to stellar level. Adrenaline now a big bang. Hard to believe? See for your self. Beware, not for the weak heart. For the Emperor ! WARHAMMER 40K : SPACE MARINE. Can you handle the war?
HISTORY.
It is 41st Millennium. Human scattered across galaxy. They are British (in accent that is). They battle across uncounted worlds. To save their arse from the aliens, heretics, mutants and other sort of nightmare-come-true-monster. Since their number was greater than billions, warriors' fable are untold. Plus, in the world of hell like this, where you live in the cruelest and the most bloody regime, who the hell is care to look at TIME magazine. Greatest human soldier is, the SPACE MARINE, bio-engineered super warriors. Along their side, we got the Imperial Guard, Inquisition and Tech-Priest (fancy name for engineer and builder). Human bet on them for insuring safety of human races. The world here is chaotic. Like they say here.
"These are the tales of those times. Forget the power of technology and science, for so much has been forgotten, never to be relearned. Forget the promise of progress and understanding, for in the grim dark future there is only war. There is no peace amongst the stars, only an eternity of carnage and slaughter, and the laughter of thirsting gods."
PLOT.
You are the Ultra Marines. Which mean that you are the SWAT level or the NAVY SEAL of space marines. Your name is Capt. Titus (you are not tiny, 7 foot height commando). And again you speak British. You are the last hope of mankind. You get your hand dirty to save the world called, Forge World, an entire planet covered by war gear factories, producing weapons and armor for human kind.
Here, human keep their new super duper giant mass weapon, where the Ork strike wave by wave. If Ork get their hand on this Warlord Class Battle Titan (a walking tank hundreds of feet tall), they'll drive human to extinction. In order to prevent this green, barbaric mutant, big, ugly, noisy, brutish, Warghhhhh baddies, you are sent here along with other company of space marines and imperial guard to turn the tide. Like Rambo with the iron constitution of Spartans, the honor of samurai, the belief of crusaders and the tactical awareness of a Roman Centurion, you wage war with huge, smoking guns from behind near-impenetrable power armor. Once you meet the green barbaric chief in command, Warboss, you'll look straight into their eyes, and say, "Sweating there green arse?" GRRENGGGGRRR KRRENNGGRR.
GAMEPLAY.
You'll play as the Rambo, Capt. Titus. This is a 3rd person shooter + melee combat. Somewhere falls between The Rise of Argonauts and Gears of War (a lot similar exactly, but it's not Warhammer copying it, it's them, since Warhammer franchise already exist years before virtual game). If you play Gears of War. This is something you should NOT expect.
First, take cover. Don't look down on this Rambo-engineered human, they are tough, almost immortal, wear thick metallic near-impenetrable mechanical suit and you expect them to shivers and squat behind walls? Nonsense. You can used this brute force to smack and smash things instead. Second is, Range. What is fun if you can't used that GRENGGRR KRENGGGRR sword (there are many type of melee weapon to use if you not fond to this sword). Plus, the enemy is as tough as you. Don't mention their numbers. Shooting alone gonna take a lot of bullet and time. The enemy fall if you shoot at them instead of running frenzy with their unharmed thick leathery skin. Close combat solve that problem and it's one of the best thing to do in your genocide campaign on the Orks.
The standard machine gun shoot explosive round. So you'll see that green skin explode, dies or both. and you can combine this shooting frenzy and slash smack madness seamlessly. But the camera need to be in zoom out a bit. Unless you have spider sense, those baddies in blind spot is peace of cake. If not, you'll curse. Speaking about curse, you'll meet the long lost tainted sibling of yours, the Chaos Marine. What the hell they're doing here is a mystery though. Anyway this is not the time to chit chat with lost siblings. You got a lot of killing to do, Titus. If the Chaos is here, they up to something satanically bad. So put them as well in your chopping list.
CONCLUSION.
This is a new twist in 3rd person shooter as now you can melee frenzy. Plus doing it in a stylish slo-mo way. It's fun to massacre the green hulk, in the place that looks pretty much similar around. Where ever you go. You'll not be missing home, but you'll miss variation. Thank god that this Ork are swarming around endlessly, they give a good hells of fight, you'll not think much about what you'll be missing. What inside your mind is how to stick that roaring sword on that baddies flesh. Once you do it, that's greatest feeling you'll ever have. Especially you are corners with hundreds of them. That's time to hear this sound. GRENNGGGRRRRR. And smile.
