BIG-NAME BRAND WILL EAT DUST!!
Posted on 7:41 AM by The G
Meet again, in the world of notebook. Here it is, a trio in the Colosseum, brawl like how vegetable is in the coleslaw. Two from the brand that your ears never tired to listen to. Some even worship this name and keep arguing it is the best of the best regardless of the price. Then there is one that's exclusive only heard by gamers. The one who is out of this world. Another league of its own. In the ring now, we welcome you the MacBook Pro, Vaio Z (VPCZ137GG/B), and Alienware M14X.
INTRODUCTION
A contender with uni-body aluminum casing. Be loved due to its design. Be loved due to its brand, Apple. Be loved due to its hype. Snow leopard on board. That will save you from nasty virus. Seems like, virus maker didn't wake to infect Mac laptop. Should there be any conspiracy, I don't know. But that is simply the case. This uni-body guy here is antibiotic. Of course it does catch some fever. A juvenile virus that display trivial message such as
"I am a Trojan Horse, so I have infected your Mac computer. I know, most people think Macs can't be infected, but look, you are infected!"
"I have full control over your computer and I can do everything I want, and you can do nothing to prevent it. I'm a very new virus, under development, so there will be many more functions when I've finished."
Not much to worry anyway. Looks like that this Mac Os and Virus maker still in a peace hippie mode. From inside, you'll have a

Highly durable. Lightweight. Carbon fiber cover on top, and single piece milled aluminum palm rest. This is like a sport car with carbon fiber casing and aluminum engine block. Surely will give you a vroom vroom zoom zoom. And it is Sony. Who don't know Sony? A brand that is so big, you can find it anywhere. Running with windows 7 professional 64-bit. And it does not have a hippie peace relationship with the virus maker. But it'll manage anyway since threat like that is just a piece of cake to handle. What lies inside it are

ADVANTAGES / DISADVANTAGES
MacBook Pro
We like its build quality. Physically that is, the unibody. We love its chiclet keyboard. It has a good depth and space between and its back lit. On idle use, this one will be very silent. On idle use also, it's cool to touch or put on your lap. Its battery last longer up to 7 hours. Thanks to Mac OS X. Couldn't ignore the OS also, it was smooth, it's cool and lovely to see. User friendly too. What we hate about it is, Apple charge too high for the premium of all its product. And like all Apple products, it's a no way to upgrade it yourself. They will never let you to customize it yourself. If you want this guy here, you need to live a path or destiny that Apple decided for you. Live it of leave it. That's Apple way. And the twin fan will kick in if you play game. You start to hear a noisy fan and yet the temperature will still build up pretty quick. Not a good choice if you want to put it on your lap.
VAIO Z (VPCZ137GG/B)
We like its no plastic feel. Light and sturdy. Something should be at this price. Carbon fiber casing cover. That's premium. Another thing we like is its design. Modern. Executive. Contemporary. Other is its keyboard. Island key is what it call. For us Asian, the key size is adequate enough. Don't know for others with large finger. But you can bet on its tab and shift key to have good decent size. You won't have any regrets typing on it. It's back lit too. Don't worry to have your lights on when you want to find which alphabet to hit. It got SSD, solid state drive. It's fast. It's quick. We hate its specs. While other notebook reaching far in advance rocket. This one is a mitsubishi evo with a 1.3 engine inside. What the hell with price shooting the sky, and the one to let you experience the space is Intel core i5? Thanks to turbo boost technology where it may have almost similar processing power as with i7. But still a let down. Quad still rule supreme and Vaio, you got granny driving inside you. What we hate about the SSD is, it's fast and quick to eat a lot of your money. A 512Gb easily gonna cost you around RM3500 alone. The battery is another headache, 5.5 hours. Then you are bless with another headache, old Nvidia graphic. Wow this sport car is driven by elderly couple. Sadly that you need to pay a big amount of money to get this granny dress in modern attire. Get ready to suffer from chronic migraine.
ALIENWARE M14x
We really love its lighting system. It's flashy and the color is configurable. It's the truth that is not out there. You want to believe. And it is here. We love its sheer power. Raw strength. This is powerful rig stuck under the hood. Just imagine a mini that has 700hp under its hood. That kind of rig. It got plenty of configuration to suit your need and money. We love the design. Since it is rare here in my place, I still find the look pack some punch. An impression that will last like forever. It also has the state of the art matte touch pad. Although some notebook narrowing the gap, still Alienware ahead of the game (couldn't forget how the touch pad was demarcated by a backlit ring). We hate its weight. It's heavy. Not a good thing to do if you want to carry it and show to your client how their investment chart may be look like. The design is out of the world. But in current day, people tend to look at minimalist design. Modern and simple. So some may dislike this exaggerated UFO design especially women. Another thing is, it's hot during gaming . So hot that you might thought that your palm gonna burn (the fan will kick in some noise, not that obvious unless you play it in the library). Not a good thing if you live here at my place and didn't has any air conditioning system. Please prepare a very good cooling pad to address the matter while waiting Alienware to release the firmware update as the solution to this.
FINALLY THE PRICE
MacBook Pro will cost you RM7,469.00 and 3 business days to arrive at your door. At place should take about 5-6 days extra.Vaio Z will cost you RM7,799.00 and available at your nearest Sony Center either for purchase or order.
Alienware M14x will cost you RM6003.00 and about 7-14 days to receive depending on parts availability.
CONCLUSIONS
Earthling still earthling. Look at the price. Look at the specs. What do you think? Who will smoke who? The result is obvious.
